Overview

Cashflow Positive runs cashflowpositive.co.nz. The product is a free NZ property cashflow verdict tool, plus a weekly newsletter and paid tiers. This page describes what we collect, what we do with it, and what you can ask us to do with it.

We are based in Auckland, New Zealand. We comply with the NZ Privacy Act 2020. We are not in the business of selling personal information.

What we collect

When you join the email list

You give us:

• Your email address (required).
• Optionally, the region you are investing in (Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch / Canterbury, Hamilton or Tauranga, Other NZ, or Not sure yet).
• Optionally, how many investment properties you currently own.

We capture automatically at the moment you submit the form:

• The page on our site you signed up from.
• The host that referred you, if any. We do not capture the full URL of the referring page.
• Any campaign tracking parameters from the URL, if you arrived through a tracked link.
• The date and time of signup.
• Your approximate country, derived from your IP address. We do not store the IP address itself.
• Your double opt-in confirmation timestamp once you click the link in the verification email. This is your record of consent.

When you visit the site

Standard server-side request logs (IP address, browser user agent, page requested, response status). These are kept short-term for security and operational debugging. We do not match them against your email unless you submit a form.

If your browser hits a JavaScript error on our site, error monitoring captures the error (browser type, page URL, stack trace, and an anonymous visitor identifier). This is used solely to fix bugs.

When you use the cashflow tool

When the verdict tool launches, submitting a property to /assess stores the address and price you enter, and the calculated cashflow result. This is so you can revisit your past assessments if you create an account, and so we can improve the calculation in aggregate.

What we never collect

• Your full name (until you sign up to a paid tier through our payment processor).
• Your phone number.
• Your card number, security code, or billing address. Our payment processor handles payments end to end. We never see card details.
• Your date of birth, gender, or anything similar.
• Browsing history outside of cashflowpositive.co.nz. We do not run third-party advertising or tracking pixels.

How we use it

• To email you when the cashflow tool goes live.
• To send the Weekly Cashflow newsletter if you have consented (you can unsubscribe at any time).
• To tailor the digest to your stated region and investor stage, if you told us.
• To understand in aggregate how visitors find us, which pages convert, and where the funnel breaks. This is statistical, not individual.
• To reply to you if you email us.
• To bill you and provide service if you become a paid customer.

We do not use your data for advertising. We do not profile you in ways that affect what you see beyond the digest tailoring above. We do not make automated decisions about you.

Who processes your data

We use a small number of reputable third-party service providers as data processors. Each operates under its own published privacy policy and contractual data-protection commitments. The categories we use:

• An email service provider, for storing the email list, tags, and sending campaigns.
• An error monitoring service, hosted in the European Union.
• A website hosting provider with a global content delivery network.
• A DNS and inbound email routing provider.
• (Once paid tiers launch) a payment processor that handles card details directly.

We do not share data with these providers for marketing or advertising purposes. They store and process data on our behalf under their own published privacy policies. If you want the specific name of any of them for a personal-information request, email us and we will tell you.

Cookies

We do not use tracking cookies for advertising. The site sets a small functional cookie for performance routing; it does not identify you.

Anonymous analytics cookies (when present) measure aggregate funnel behaviour. Session replay is disabled. You can block analytics cookies in your browser without affecting access to the site or any of its features.

Sharing

We do not share your personal information with third parties for marketing or advertising. The processor categories listed above act on our behalf only.

We may disclose information if required by New Zealand law (subpoena, court order, or other legally binding request). We will tell you about the request unless we are legally prohibited from doing so.

How long we keep it

• Email and signup metadata — kept while you are subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we keep a suppression record (so we never accidentally re-add you) and delete the rest within 90 days.
• Server logs and error reports — 90 days, then automatically rotated out.
• Assessment data (post-launch) — kept for the life of your account, then deleted within 30 days of account deletion.

Your rights

Under the NZ Privacy Act 2020, you can:

• Access your data. Email us and we will send you what we hold about you within 20 working days.
• Correct your data. Tell us what is wrong and we will update it.
• Delete your data. Click unsubscribe in any email we send, or email us. We will erase within 30 days.
• Withdraw consent. Equivalent to delete.
• Complain. If you are not satisfied with how we handle a request, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

Children

The service is intended for adults considering NZ residential investment property. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a way that materially affects your rights, we will email everyone on the list before the change takes effect. Minor edits will be marked by an updated “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
